Book Giveaway for Love Finds You in Homestead

Love Finds You in Homestead, Iowa officially releases today! This story is set in the quaint Amana Colonies in Iowa--a place that has fascinated me since I lived in Iowa during my teen years. It wasn't until I visited the Amanas last August though that I learned about their rich heritage of faith and communal living. It was a delight to visit these beautiful Colonies and enjoy an unhurried week as I sampled pastries and toured old homes and spent hours walking in the forest and biking alongside the peaceful Millrace canal.

The Homestead story: Times are hard in 1894. Desperate for work, former banker Jacob Hirsch rides the rails west from Chicago with his four-year-old daughter, Cassie. When a life-threatening illness strands the pair in Homestead, Iowa, the local Amana villagers welcome the father and daughter into their peaceful society. Liesel, a young Amana woman, nurses Cassie back to health, and the Homestead elders offer Jacob work. But Jacob's growing interest in Liesel complicates his position in the Amanas. Will he fight to stay in the only place that feels like home, even if it means giving up the woman he loves? Or will Liesel leave her beloved community to face the outside with Jacob and Cassie at her side?

On April 9th, I will be drawing five names to receive a free copy of Love Finds You in Homestead, Iowa. If you live in the U.S. and would like to be included in this drawing, please leave a quick comment below. I will post the names of the winners on April 9th and mail the books off the following week.

Thank you for celebrating with me!

I wish I could say I was a big reader: I'm not. But recently, have had the opportunity to read work by authors I have a connection to somehow, personally. And I am drawn, compelled to read! So I will "keep my fingers and toes crosses" - I would love to - and WILL, read your new novel! :)

This isn't another entry just an FYI for your blog readers. The people in the Amana colonies are NOT Amish. It's a completely different group of people.
