Fun with Mimi and Pop Pop
It's been a while since I've blogged, but in lieu of blogging the past two weeks, I've been trying to revive "The Black Cloister" manuscript. This novel isn't due until June, but it's amazing how quickly six months pass when you have to write 90,000 publishable words. Yesterday I stared at my computer in Starbucks for a few hours, trying to get my head back into the game.
Mimi and Pop Pop (or Punkin', as Kiki calls him) were here recently, and we had a blast--taking walks, eating fried scallops in Santa Barbara, and trying to solve a genealogical mystery at the daunting L.A. library. Pop Pop got Karly her first scooter, and she's been buzzing around our neighborhood like she's Danica Patrick. Every time an airplane crosses the sky, Kiki thinks Mimi and Punkin' are coming back to see her again.
